Douglas Pryde began his career in 1974 as a salesman for Scottish Equitable, an Edinburgh-based insurer. He then went on to be a pensions consultant in Liverpool throughout the 1980s, before turning his focus to independent financial advice. Douglas believes that to be at your best, you must look your best, and does not subscribe to the recent trend of dress-down Fridays, instead preferring to maintain traditional formality. In 2013, the horse Auroras Encore, which Douglas co-owns, won the Grand National. He likens his work in the pensions industry to that of thoroughbred horse breeding, as both practices require long-term, carefully considered investment. As a benefactor of mentorship himself, Douglas fully realises the value he can provide to Finito students.
