Sue Harkness has pursued a career in Human Resources,being naturally driven towards engaging and developing talent. Her experience spans retail, research and the charity sector.She began her career at Tesco, serving as HR Business Partner for five years. She moved into an international management learning and development role, creating tools to develop effective cross-cultural working. Resourcing and recruitment have often been central to her responsibilities – creating a talent plan to enable Tesco to expand into new business areas such as clothing, toys and electricals that were outside of their core food offering at that time. At the St Albans based Marketing and Research agency, she worked with the team to open a not-for-profit gift shop ‘Raindrops on Roses’ that still donates its profits to fighting cancer and harnesses the expertise of employees.
A qualified coach, she is now Director of Harkness Associates, focusing increasingly on employability and careers
Sue holds a Masters of Science in Psychology from University College London, and earned her BA in French and European Politics from the University of Bradford and University of Nice with honours.
