Adaptability might be the most desirable soft skill there is at the moment – because new technology and evolving businesses need employees who are capable of keeping up. It’s estimated that 54% of us will need to reskill or upskill over the coming years – so blinkered, limited or stubborn employees are going out of fashion quick.
Today, we’re looking at most popular interview questions for screening adaptability, and how you should answer them if you want to make a good impression.
#5: Tell me about a time when you had to adjust to a colleague’s working style in order to complete a project or achieve your outcomes
This question is tricky – don’t fall into the trap of complaining about a working style that differs from yours. The interviewer is looking for examples of your willingness to bend when it’s necessary – tell a story which reveals your patient and flexible side, not the sulky or judgemental one. If the situation was a disaster, tell the truth – but focus on what you learned from the experience.
